About the client

This client is a well established, family owned jeweller and diamond merchant operating in bricks and mortar stores across the UK, as well as through eCommerce.

Initial challenges

Our Digital Marketing Audit identified issues with the client’s link profile, page speed, and technical aspects, highlighting a significant challenge of low online visibility. The majority of their traffic was derived from branded search terms, prompting our goal to rank for broader jewellery keywords.

Our approach

We addressed three core SEO pillars: technical, linking, and content.

  • Technical: Resolved indexing issues, synchronised XML sitemap, pagination problems, canonicalisation issues, and added missing Alt Text.
  • Link Profile: Conducted a link audit to analyse backlinks, created a disavow list for low-quality links, built high-quality links through local citations and blogger outreach, and redirected legacy pages.
  • Content and Product Categorisation: Conducted keyword research, revamped the website’s category and subcategory structure, added over 300 new categories for improved visibility, and enhanced internal linking between categories and subcategories.

The results

  • 40% year-on-year traffic increase within the first two months of SEO.
  • Increased website’s Domain Authority from 35 to 54 within five months.
