Women in Business – Demystifying SEO

Published on October 20, 2020 by Alex Eade

Last week, Hannah Meadows took to the virtual stage at the Women in Business Virtual Expo 2020. Hannah has been a part of the Footprint Digital team for over four years now, and has worked her way up from junior Relationship Manager to the role of Head of Client Services, overseeing all of our clients and ensuring the work they receive is second to none. Her hard work and determination to succeed made her the perfect person to speak at this exhibition.

Hannah decided to speak on Search Engine Optimisation. She said ‘I think it’s quite suitable because in SEO, although there are really big female players, there’s still this kind of gender divide, and it is quite a male dominated industry. I thought by introducing just some of the basics of SEO, hopefully that will encourage some more women in business to be empowered to understand SEO and also make some really good initial decisions based on the tools and techniques I shared’.

Take a look at Hannah’s ‘Demystifying Search Engine Optimisation’ slides below as well as her technical SEO, Content and Link Building checklists.

SEO Checklists

The three core principles of SEO focus on the website itself and all of the technical aspects that make it run well, the content and what is said on the website, and the links that other websites give you (a link from a  high quality website to yours is seen as an endorsement by search engines).
